Alexandra Johnson

Alex PoeticSoul is taking spoken word poetry by storm. A fiercely determined female with a strong voice, the Lafayette, LA native wants to encourage others to stand up, be fearless, never give up, and be heard.

PoeticSoul is founder and leader of spoken word organization Lyrically Inclined, where she can be seen live monthly in Lafayette, LA. She takes her strong, resound messages to a new level of vibration with her powerful live performances. Her debut album, Scattered Thoughts, address a variety of life issues inspired by the artist’s own personal growth, addressing human and human rights issues.

Fascinated by the images created by using voice, words, and body movement, PoeticSoul finds freedom in the page and on stage. “I use spoken word poetry as a vehicle to express emotion, with the hopes of helping at least one person grow. To be an example that no matter what is placed against us, whether it is health issues, school, family, dysfunction, or any other obstacle, giving up should never be an option. I want to motivate people to find their “volume button.”
